Ja Rule Facing Two Years Jail Time

I know it's been a long time, actually its been nearly eight months but I figured it was befitting since we are getting closer to the New Year. I couldn't leave ya'll without coming to say a word or two. I was reading the Daily News today and it doesn't surprise me that none other than Ja-Rule is the next victim to be facing charges of possession of a weapon. This occured on the very same night Lil Wayne was arrested following a concert at the Beacon Theater for the very same charge in 2007. It seems like everyone thinks its cool to be incarcerated all the sudden. The harsh reality of this is the fact that this man has three kids and a wife who depends on him. To be 34 years of age and still allowing yourself to be caught up in the drama indicates your irresponsible and a hazard to society. There's no excuse! Being locked up affects your entire family, mentally, financially, spiritually, and emotionally. Its not just you that has to do time, but your family and loved ones are also doing time until your pending release date. Sometimes I wonder about these rappers and the people they have in their circles. Jail is not the same thing as it used to be back in 89' and what kills me is the fact that these dudes do their time to come home bigging up their chest like King Kong as if they were in the thick of shit! The reality is people like that are automatically considered "high profile" so there is little to no chance that they will end up in general population. Instead, they end up in IPC which is Involuntary Protective Custody and have limited contact with the general population. Fans of these people don't even know what's real! All they know and seem to think is that their in there "holding it down" because that's what they perpetuate. I'm not gonna undermine a person's ability but I will call it like I see it! I went to an event last year that focused on "Bury The Beef" with Al Sharpton and a host of others and Ja-Rule was there in support of the movement. For him to be going through what he's facing right now seems to be mind boggling to me. Don't talk the talk when you can't walk it. The more people glorify these rappers, the more they feel the need to act as if they're gangsters. In the end, a wife and her three kids are without a father for two years and the family suffers tremendously...This is not a personal bash against the man, but sometimes tough love is what people need to hear at times...

P.S. And truth be told, aint nothing gangsta about being in IPC
