REMEMBERING 9/11

Today marks the eigth anniversary of the victims and the heroes of that horrific day many years ago. As we mourn the legacy of those who were affected by this incident, take the time to reflect back on your life and be thankful. I know we're not exactly living in the best of times as a result of this economy being in a recession. Just know that as long as your alive with a roof over your heads and the basic necessities needed in order to sustain, your blessed. I remember that day as vivid as yesterday. I was on my way to school when my brother called me in his room to show me what was transpiring in our own back yard. I recall being briefly suspended in time for the moment. I immediately made a stern decision not to go to school that night. Alot of people are still mentally and emotionally affected by this tragic incident so my heart goes out to them as well as the many firefighters and volunteers who gave up their lives with their heroics. Some are still affected by the fumes they consumed during cleanup. It just goes to show that although New Yorkers may be aggressive at times, when it comes to coming together for a cause people band together in order to make things happen. The same way I'm out here fighting and inspiring the youth is the same kind of passion those fire fighters had during times of utter distress and total chaos. Lets celebrate the lives of the lost as opposed to mourning them on this day. Be thankful for your life...
