Being incarcerated affects about ninety five percent of the population. This topic needs to be addressed and I bring awareness to this epidemic affecting all of us one way or the other...

LIL WAYNE ON THE ROCK?
Lil Wayne has finally turned his self in to finish his year sentence on the Riker's Island stemming from a gun charge. Weezy's work ethic and energy will surely be missed by his peers and his many fans all over the world. The last time the media had so much buzz surrounding an entertainer going to prison was with T.I., who is currently at a halfway house after serving his time of a year and a day for the same offense. I remember many years ago, Tupac was at the height of all the legal troubles. Many artists had their fare share of being locked up or going to trail, its almost as if they're being scrutinized even more by the Powers that Be. There's not alot of crime happening on the streets these days as opposed to when I was growing up in the 80's. The Hip Hop community is at the center of scandal because as much as I hate to say this, some people like to draw attention to themselves. Lil Wayne was immediately placed in protective custody the minute he arrived on Riker's Island soil. I can imagine how many officers relished the thought of having to strip search him or have the luxury of having him on their gallery. I'm pretty sure alot of them will be putting in for alot of overtime now that Lil Wayne is in the building. Since he's such a high profile person, theres no way he could go to general population. He doesnt have anything to prove to anyone nor should he try to prove anything to anyone. He's at a place in his life where he has alot to lose and others don't so he needs to be mindful of that. I know it sucks to be locked up twenty three hours a day against his will but they did the same thing to Tupac when he was in Clinton Lower F. Its not about being real, its about preserving your career and life. The good thing is he doesnt have alot of time to do so hopefully he'll utilize this brief hiatus to focus on what he really needs to focus on, which is MUSIC. See you when you get out Weezy, I'm riding for you--I might just send him a copy of my book.
